Step One

🖨 How to Print

  • Format: High-res JPG or PNG, 300 DPI — print-ready as delivered
  • Orientation: Set your printer to Landscape — pages are horizontal US Letter (11" × 8.5")
  • Paper: Ivory or cream cardstock (80–120 gsm) for the best result. White works beautifully too
  • Quality: Always set printer to Best Quality for rich, warm tones
  • Scale: Print at 100%. For a smaller booklet, scale to 70%
  • Home printer tip: If colors feel light, increase brightness slightly in your photo viewer before printing
Step Two

📄 How to Fold

Each page is designed as a landscape spread with a centre crease. Simply fold in half to get a classic portrait journal page (~5.5" × 8.5").

  • Crisp fold: Run a bone folder along the crease line
  • Torn edges: Tear gently along a ruler for a vintage look
  • Aged effect: Brush cooled black tea on edges, heat-gun dry
Step Three

📖 How to Assemble a Quick Journal

  • Nest your spreads: Stack folded pages inside each other in any order you like
  • Bind it: Staple at the crease, tie with ribbon, use binder rings, or try Japanese stab binding
  • Add a cover: Use kraft paper, book cloth, or print any journal page twice to use as your cover
  • Decorate freely: Layer clipart cutouts, stamps, washi tape, and found ephemera
  • Pockets: Fold any portrait page in thirds to create a pocket — see the tutorial below
  • Sell or gift: Finished journals can be sold or given as gifts. Commercial use is permitted ✓

This pack includes a sheet of 18 decorative mini tags — all matching the pack's theme and palette, ready to cut out and use.

  • Print as a sheet: Print at 100% on cardstock — all 18 tags are print-and-cut ready
  • Print tags larger: Open the file in any photo viewer or Canva, resize to fill the page, and print
  • Print individually: Crop a single tag in Canva or Preview (Mac), then print at 150–200% scale
  • Add a hole: Use a hole punch at the top — thread ribbon, twine, or a jump ring to hang
  • Use them: Attach to gifts, journal pockets, envelopes, or use as bookmarks and embellishments

🏷 How to Make a Pocket Page — Step by Step

Print & Cut in Half

Start with any landscape spread from your pack. Print it on cardstock in Landscape orientation at 100% size.

Cut along the centre crease line to get a single flat portrait page (~5.5" × 8.5"). This is the page that will become your pocket.

Important: cut, don't fold — you need one flat single sheet for the pocket technique, not a folded booklet.
Step 2

Mark the Bottom Third

Hold the portrait page and lightly mark it into three equal horizontal sections.

The bottom third folds up to become the pocket. The top third is what stays visible — the beautiful decorated side.

No need to be precise — fold by eye, it doesn't have to be exact.
Step 3

Fold Up & Glue the Sides

Fold the bottom third up over the middle third. The design faces inward — you'll see the plain cream back of the paper forming the pocket flap.

Only your top third stays visible as the decorative part. Glue or staple both side edges firmly to close the pocket.

No need to print on both sides — the plain back of the paper is traditional in junk journaling.
Step 4

Tuck Your Tags & Enjoy

Slide your mini tags, notes, or little cards into the open top of the pocket. They fan out beautifully above the page.

Attach this pocket page into your journal by gluing or sewing the back onto another spread. Now you have a functional, beautiful pocket!

You can make pockets from any page in the pack — mix designs for a rich layered look.
